Norfolk Showground have today announced plans for the submission of a planning proposal for a Speedway track on the eastern side of the Showground on the former golf driving range.
The planning permission is expected to be submitted during August after Norfolk Showground were approached some months ago about the possibility of a speedway track being located on site. Says Louise Wilkinson, Business Deveolopment Manager “we gave the proposal considerable consideration and concluded that we would be the ideal location for speedway. We are an edge of city location right on the bypass making access easy and of course we have ample parking. The showground is well established as Norfolk’s Premier Events Venue and we host family entertainment as well as a considerable number of niche events all year round. The agreement we have reached with the potential speedway operators will ensure that there is no impact on parking for the Royal Norfolk Show and none of our other events will be affected.’
There will be a public exhibition of the plans from 11am until 4pm on Saturday 28th July in the Townshend Room at Norfolk Showground. There will be signs in place around the Showground site to direct members of the public to the exhibition.
