Business people visiting this summer’s Royal Norfolk Show will be able to take part in a world record attempt in the show’s first ever networking marquee.
Hethersett-based The Business Base, who will be exhibiting in the All About Business networking marquee, will be undertaking a world record attempt during the show, aiming to collect more than 500 business cards in just 24 hours.
The record-breaking attempt will begin at 11am on Wednesday June 27th and finish at 10.59am on Thursday 28th.
As well as aiming to set a new world record, the collected business cards will be used as part of Hethersett’s Olympic celebrations.
The cards will be used to create a collage in the shape of the Olympic Torch for the Torch’s visit to Hethersett on July 5th.
Maxine Rushton, Project Manager at The Business Base, said: ‘We’re excited about the Olympic Torch coming to Hethersett so this seemed like a great way to get lots of local businesses involved.’
The networking marquee, which is being run by All About Business, will strengthen the Royal Norfolk Show’s business offering, giving visiting businesses the chance to network in a professional, friendly environment.
The Royal Norfolk Show is the first agricultural show in the UK to establish a dedicated area for business networking.
Show Manager Sarah de Chair said: ‘Many Norfolk businesses attend the show every year so we know that it is an ideal opportunity for people to meet and discuss new opportunities.
‘However finding a professional place to meet for a coffee can be difficult so we decided that a dedicated networking marquee would give business people the chance to get something extra out of the show this year.’
Sara Greenfield, a partner with All About Business, said: ‘All About Business demonstrates the value of businesses working together, we are all looking forward to welcoming people into the networking marquee this June.’
Entry to the marquee will be free with the production of a business card and coffee and cold drinks will be available to purchase. Local businesses will also be exhibiting in the marquee to showcase the best of Norfolk enterprise.
