A planning application has been submitted to South Norfolk Council and if planners give the project the gree light building work could start in October with a completion date of late Spring.
The new desigh for the exhibition hall will have a two storey glass entrance reception which can hold 100 people at a time and new toilets designed for 1,500 people. Tjhere will be a 'drop off' point outside the foyer and covered access into the building.
Other proposed additions are a complete re-deisgn to the interior of the current building, a new heating system which will allow greater height availability in the hall. Upgraded acoustics and a new cladding system will also be included.
The Showground already hosts consumer events most weekends throughout the summerand this new improvement to the current building will provide a first class venue for larger events as well as corporate use all year round.
Anyone wishing to book the new facility next year can contact Louise Wilkinson on 01603 731 969.
